幽默翻譯對譯者來說,是莫大的挑戰(zhàn),這已經(jīng)是眾人皆知的事實(shí)。早古羅馬時(shí)期,西塞羅就指出,與言語形態(tài)有關(guān)的幽默不可譯。直到兩千多年后的今天,學(xué)者們還在對幽默翻譯的相關(guān)問題進(jìn)行激烈的探討,主要關(guān)于文學(xué)作品中的幽默翻譯和影視劇中的幽默翻譯。 在幽默翻譯研究的初期,學(xué)者們主要是圍繞幽默翻譯的可譯與不可譯性展開探討。美國幽默研究學(xué)者d.nilson認(rèn)為幽默是可譯的,而法國學(xué)者r. diot則認(rèn)為翻譯幽默和翻譯詩歌是讓譯者無比頭疼的事。anne- marie laurian認(rèn)為在同一語言中人們有時(shí)在理解幽默時(shí)都會(huì)遇到障礙,更何況是在跨語言的情況下,翻譯幽默是一個(gè)妥協(xié)的過程,需要譯者付出努力,想象力和創(chuàng)造力(胡興波,2012)。而在我國國內(nèi),許多學(xué)者也感嘆過譯事之難。早在1992年,毛榮貴在其文章《英語幽默語言漢譯漫談》中就提到幽默翻譯的可譯與不可譯,他指出不牽涉表達(dá)技巧的情景式幽默比較容易翻譯,而在非情景幽默中存在著譯事三難。首先是假借英語單詞“音”、“形”
